The inaugural Southdown Benefit Dinner was held on May 1, 2015 to raise support and awareness of our mission to provide integrated holistic treatment for Religious and Clergy.
Thank you to all of our donors for their generous donations. Your faithful generosity assists us in our mission of bringing healthy ministers to healthy communities of faith and it connects you to our ongoing ministry. The proceeds from the Benefit Dinner will allow us to ensure that no one is turned away due to the lack of financial resources.
We are entering into our 50th year of ministry to clergy and religious. Our mission to provide quality psychological and spiritual assistance continues to evolve so as to address the needs of a changing world. These services include residential treatment, outpatient counseling and consultation and education.
The inaugural Benefit Dinner brought together a caring community supporting our mission. We were honoured to have Sr. Veronica O’Reilly, CSJ and Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI, DD to be our speakers, who reminded all of us that when “we are knee deep in the mud, we need help to get out” and that this “wave of care is far reaching and spreads beyond” those we have assisted.
We are looking forward to the next year as we celebrate Southdown’s 50th Anniversary of receiving its first residents in search of compassion, forgiveness and healing. We will be sending more information later this year. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. In the evening you say, Red sky at night, the day will be bright but in the morning, Sky red and gloomy, the day will be stormy. If you know how to interpret the look of the sky, can you not read the signs of the times?
